November 2022 TBR!

There are a few things happening in November.

SciFiMonth is ten years old this year and the hosts are Imyril and Lisa. I won’t be doing the readalong but I definitely recommend The Galaxy, and the Ground Within.

I want to finish Paul of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.

And then I have a small pile of options:

The City in the Middle of the Night by Charlie Jane Anders, A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine, and Too Like the Lightning by Ada Palmer are series starters.

Beyond the End of the World by Meagan Spooner and Amie Kaufman and Marque and Reprisal by Elizabeth Moon are second books.

Then we have Nonfiction November hosted by A Book Olive.

I have started a few nonfiction books (some of them from last year) that I still haven’t finished:

A New World Begins: The History of the French Revolution by Jeremy D. Popkin

Stranger in the Shogun’s City by Amy Stanley

The Selected Works of Audre Lorde ed. by Roxane Gay

The Time Traveller’s Guide to Regency Britain by Ian Mortimer (still working on my presentation for December)

Writing Your Story’s Theme: The Writer’s Guide to Plotting Stories that Matter by K.M. Weiland (because November is also NaNoWriMo)

This is quite the ambitious TBR on its own but I also plan on reading multiple volumes of manga. I may try to read 30 volumes in 30 days but a few of my choices are bind-ups or they’re big standalone’s. I know from experience, however, that some days in November I just want to read manga. I find it helps me when seasonal depression hits me in the face (or creeps up from the cold floor).

What are your reading plans for November?
