Wyrd and Wonder is a month long event in May celebrating fantasy! There are multiple hosts and two readalongs. Imyril at There’s Always Room for One More has a bunch of information; as does Lisa of Dear Geek Place.

Today I’m writing about five fantasy books I’ve read since May of last year that I’ve loved.

Jade Legacy by Fonda Lee concludes the trilogy and it left me emotional.

All that Glitters/Enchantée by Gita Trelease is the start of a duology set during the French Revolution but with magic.

A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking by T. Kingfisher was thought-provoking and a lot of fun.

Nice Dragon’s Finish Last by Rachel Aaron has me optimistic that I may have found an urban fantasy series I can throw myself into.

It’s Not Little Red Riding Hood by Josh Funk and Edwardian Taylor is a picture book and it is fabulous. I also recommend the other books in this series of re-imagined fairy tales.
