Lumberjanes: The Moon Is Up

2nd in the series

by Mariko Tamaki

Ill. by Brooklyn Allen

Amulet Books, 2018

Middle Grade Fantasy Adventure

Summary: In this follow-up to Unicorn Power!, the Lumberjanes of Roanoke cabin find themselves in the midst of astronomy-themed competitions and trying to figure out who stole the cheese.

Likes: I really liked the competitions related to astronomy. They were creative and seemed like fun. Castor was fun and so was her coat. I also like that they are good at reading each other and helping each other when they are struggling emotionally. Also, there was a lot of food. Cheese is a particular favorite of mine.

Dislikes: This was meant to focus on Jo but it felt like we didn’t get as much about what makes them unique and their strengths.

Overall this was a lot of fun and I’m excited to carry on with the next one.
