Squad

Greenwillow Books, 2021
YA Supernatural Graphic Novel
Summary: Becca and her mom move to a new town. Then she meets the popular girls and there is more to them than the meets the eye.
Likes: The romance that develops for Becca is cute and it takes some effort and time for it to happen. I also like the conflict for the four girls. They have multiple small challenges but when Becca accidentally does something, it impacts them much more and the challenges get tougher. This also leans more into the female rage side of horror and I enjoyed it.
Dislikes: I’m a little conflicted about how things go for Arianna.
Overall I was hyped for this as soon as I saw the concept. And it was executed well. The story is good and the art is solid too. I also like the ending.
