The Heir
by Sophie Lark
2021
Adult Romance
Summary: Leo and Anna are going to Kingmakers, a college for people who plan to play a role in crime families. They’re best friends (also the kids of couples from previous books) and have known each other since they were little. But going to this school changes their dynamic. They face challenges they haven’t before. (Also, this book does cover general events in books in the other series. I don’t regret being spoiled, I might still try to read them.)
Likes: I like Leo’s character arc. He was an arrogant jock and the challenges he faces demand that he reconsider everything. Anna and Leo needed to be separated. They needed time to be individuals. I also like the friends the two of them make along the way.
Dislikes: I’m on the fence about Dean. He’s a complicated antagonist. But I think he gets his own book in the future… I’m not sure I can handle that.
Overall of the three books by Sophie Lark I’ve read (Ivan, Brutal Prince), I liked this one the most and I want to read the next book.
