In my Top Ten Tuesday about my Spring TBR I mentioned the Nebulas. I find it interesting to compare these two.

Focusing on the novels again!

Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse (I’ve read the first chapter and it was a little terrifying. I still plan on reading it though.)

The City We Became by N. K. Jemisin

Piranesi by Susanna Clarke

Network Effect by Martha Wells

are all on the Nebula list too.

Harrow the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir and The Relentless Moon by Mary Robinette Kowal finish the list. I read the first books of these series. I didn’t like Gideon the Ninth but I did like The Calculating Stars, I just haven’t been motivated to continue the series.

The Lodestar Award for Best Young Adult Book

Elatsoe by Darcie Little Badger (I have this one in my pile of library books. I should get on it soon, I think.)

Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko

A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking by T. Kingfisher (I’ve read the first chapter, very intriguing.)

are also on the Nebula list.

Finishing with:

Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas

A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik

Legendborn by Tracy Deonn (I have this one on hold, I’ve heard good things about it.)

I like that there are differences between the award finalists. It makes things more interesting.

Have you read any of these? What did you think?
