Top Ten Tuesday: Nonbookish Hobbies

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. I struggled a little this week because a lot of my hobbies are book or book related. For example: writing poetry and fiction, this blog, a bunch of my art is connected to manga. Some interests have come from the books I read. I am an armchair traveler and history enthusiast. So I present a few hobbies that I’ve probably read books related to but they aren’t completely dependent on books.

Watercolor (paint and pencil)

Illustration and calligraphy

Creative journaling and planning (it’s journaling and planning but with stickers, washi tape, and doodles added)

Foreign language learning (mostly from books but also from people who speak the languages and audio visual media in those languages)

Singing

Line, square, swing dancing, and ballet

Operas, musicals, movies, anime, cartoon and live-action shows, and plays

Fashion

Travel (what I don’t get from books, I get from videos)

What are some of your hobbies, bookish or not?

  1. Wow, this is a eclectic list! My mom is a planning/journaling nut, she has markers and washi tape everywhere. I love watching movies and I’ve considered seriously trying to learn a new language. I think I would go either for German, Spanish, or ASL. Which ones do you speak? 🙂

    1. Spanish, French, and Japanese. I’ve been trying to focus on those three this year. I love trying out other languages but if I start mixing things up I know I’ve stretched too far.
