Summary: Binti leaves her home planet to go to university, on the ride there she is brutally thrust into the center of generations of conflict. That role continues into this novella.
Likes: There is rich tradition and history. In particular how different peoples relate to each other and the planet. It feels more and more magical as we go along but rooted in math and science just not in the way I’ve ever used them. It felt like everything in the series came full circle in this novella.
Dislikes: Like many, I think elements could have been expanded more. Sometimes the pace was a little too fast. It also didn’t feel like we spent a ton of time at the university. (The short story helped a little with that.)
Overall Who Fears Death feels a bit more solid (the narrative and characters in particular) but I would still consider this novella series fabulous.
