Adult Historical Adventure Romance

Summary: Gwendolyn Meadows has been Jane’s chaperone and Pink Carnation cohort in France for a few years when Jane’s sister goes missing. She meets Colonel William Reid because his daughter has gone missing as well and the resulting adventure is a little more than either of them bargained for.
Likes: Miss Gwen and Colonel Reid’s banter is funny. I also like that we got more about them. That ending. This changes so much for the Pink Carnation, I want to see how that will be executed in the next volume.
Dislikes: I don’t like how much Gwen is left out. Her feelings are not really considered. She works hard to present a tough exterior but that doesn’t mean she isn’t human.
Overall I like the romance and adventure in this one but I wasn’t as happy with Jane and the other characters. I would like more from her perspective because she is coming off as cold and callous but I don’t think that’s all that’s going on.
