Review: Stargazing

Stargazing

by Jen Wang

First Second, 2019

Middle Grade Contemporary Graphic Novel

8 cups of tea out of 11

Summary: When Moon moves into Christine’s neighborhood, she isn’t sure if they can be friends. They are different but they share interests and Moon encourages Christine. But then Moon needs Christine and she has to step up as a friend.

Likes: This left me a little teary-eyed at the end. Neither of them is perfect but that made them more relatable. They are also very forgiving and show how we can work things out. It isn’t easy.

Dislikes: I’m a little conflicted about the celestial beings angle.

Overall I did love The Prince and the Dressmaker more but this still got to me and made me feel.

I actually enjoyed this on more than ‘The Prince and the Dressmaker,’ even though I liked them both. I also liked the Celestial Beings angle to Moon’s character, it’s a little different but I thought it was an interesting addition. 🙂
