Heartstopper, Vol. 1

by Alice Oseman

Graphix, 2020

YA Contemporary Romance Graphic Novel

8 cups of tea out of 11

Summary: Charlie and Nick meet and become friends but Nick struggles with how to handle his growing romantic feelings.

Likes: I like that Nick stands up for Charlie, whether it is a jerk taking advantage of him or Nick’s friends. I read this so quickly because I liked these two so much and wanted to keep reading about their developing relationship. It gave me a warm feeling.

Dislikes: I’m glad I was told who some of the characters were again in the panel art but that shouldn’t have been necessary.

Overall I haven’t read Oseman’s novels Solitaire (which includes this couple but they aren’t the main characters) or Radio Silence. I do really want to now though. I also want the next books. I want to know what happens.
