Summary: Merlin has sent Guinevere to Camelot to marry King Arthur so that she can protect him from the many magical threats against him.
Likes: I developed a fondness for Guinevere and King Arthur right away. There were supporting characters who were interesting too. I also like the character arc Guinevere gets. And I appreciated the homage to previous retelling’s while also twisting elements in different ways.
Dislikes: It had the common flaw of packing most of the action and the forward moving plot at the end. A high percentage felt like set-up for the rest of the trilogy.
Overall comparing this to Once and Future (an Arthurian legend retelling with a science fiction twist) I read earlier this year, I liked this one more and would like to continue the series.
