OWLs 2020 TBR!

The OWLs readathon is part of the Magical Readathon series that occurs throughout the year. This is the third time I’m participating. (Here’s the announcement video and website.)

I decided to go with the Ministry Worker because she added on a couple different things this year. I’d like to do the Department of Mysteries path which I will mostly be taking care of in the NEWTs readathon in August. Even though we don’t have those prompts yet I still liked the idea of that. The Animagus Training is also new so I thought I’d add that as well plus that has prompts in the NEWTs too.

For Ministry Worker:

  • Charms – white cover: I’m debating between Defy the Worlds by Claudia Gray and Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys
  • Defense Against the Dark Arts – book set at sea or on the coast: The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry
  • History of Magic – book featuring witches and wizards: The Black Witch by Laurie Forest or Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
  • Potions – under 150 pages: The Ascent to Godhood by Jy Yang
  • Transfiguration – shape-shifting: The Oddmire, Book 1: Changeling by William Ritter

For Animagus Training:

  • Arithmancy – something outside your favorite genre: since Contemporary Literary Fiction isn’t in my top three favorite genres, I’m debating between The Idiot by Elif Batuman and Red at the Bone by Jacqueline Woodson
  • Potions
  • Transfiguration

I’m debating about doing different books to count for the training or if I want them to crossover.
