The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making
by Catherynne M. Valente
Feiwel and Friends, 2011
YA Fantasy

Summary: September goes on an adventure in Fairyland.
Likes: The scene with the two witches and their husband struck me the most. I thought they were hilarious and interesting. It is a meandering plot but I tend to like that. Especially because we get introduced to interesting characters and adventures.
Dislikes: I had trouble connecting with September. She is a regular fairy tale main character, less depth.
Overall I did enjoy reading this one but I don’t feel compelled to continue the series. I still want to read Valente’s work but maybe I’ll try a different series or standalone next.
