The Princess Who Flew with Dragons

3rd in the series

by Stephanie Burgis

Bloomsbury Children’s Books, 2019

Middle Grade Fantasy

7 cups of tea out of 11

Summary: Princess Katrin sends her sister, Sofia, to Villenne to make some diplomatic connections for their kingdom. She fails a bit but gets to explore the city until the ice giants attack.

Likes: I liked seeing Sofia and Jasper’s friendship. At first they are writing letters because Jasper isn’t allowed to leave his dragon family cave but then his sister gives him the ability to turn into a human so they can meet in real life. Also Sofia meeting different creatures and having experiences so she can come out of her shell was fun to see.

Dislikes: The ice giants were not as smart as I would have liked.

Overall I still love the first book of this series the most but I liked this third one slightly more than the second one (but that’s because of the fairies).
