Soul Eater, Vol. 5

by Atsushi Ohkubo

Yen Press, 2011

8 cups of tea out of 11

Summary: The anniversary party begins and so does Medusa’s attack. All that stands between her and victory are three student meisters, their weapons, and one teacher.

Likes: Maka and Soul’s bond is a lot stronger in this volume and their friendship seems much more solid. They are trying something very risky but they’re doing it together. Stein and Medusa’s chemistry is amazing to watch as they battle.

Dislikes: How Medusa treats Crona as a kid and into the present, especially the bunny incident.

Overall this battle is just getting started. Even though I know how this goes, I’m still eager to read the next volume.
