13 little blue envelopes

13 Little Blue Envelopes

by Maureen Johnson

HarperCollins, 2005

YA Contemporary Romance

7 cups of tea out of 11

Summary: Ginny’s aunt dies but she sends her thirteen envelopes she’s supposed to open after completing different tasks all across Europe.

Likes: We got to see a lot of Europe. The romance wasn’t really the center of the story. I did enjoy Keith’s character. He’s very interesting.

Dislikes: Most of the time this was pretty easy to read and I appreciated that Ginny wasn’t happy all the time, her character was much more realistic that way, but sometimes it was hard to read about how lonely she was. Most of Richard’s character comes out in the end. I would have liked it in the beginning too.

Overall I enjoyed myself and want to read the sequel, although I’m not sure what I really want from a sequel. There’s an open ending but I think that makes sense. But we’ll see.
