When picking classics to read for the year, I try to do books from different countries and time periods. I also try to pick books I haven’t read before.

The Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong

The Water Margin by Shi Nai’an

Silence by Shusaku Endo

Before the Dawn by Toson Shimazaki

Daniel Deronda by George Eliot

For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway

A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway

I read these two a long time ago and I keep mixing them up, so this year I’ll reread them both.

Fledgling by Octavia Butler

Eugene Onegin by Alexander Pushkin

Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy

Are there classics you want to read this year? Have you read any of these?
