The Adventure Zone: Here There Be Gerblins
by Clint, Griffin, Justin, and Travis McElroy
Art by Carey Pietsch
First Second, 2018
Adult Fantasy Graphic Novel
4 cups of tea out of 11
Summary: Three characters and their Dungeon Master go on a fantastical adventure.
Likes: It was really funny and the art was fabulous.
Dislikes: It was really shallow. The characters and plot lacked depth. I didn’t really care what happened.
Overall I didn’t hate this at all. I read it all the way to the end. If you’re looking for something fun, this might be for you. But I won’t continue on with the series and there are other fantastical graphic novels I’d recommend instead like Monstress, Nimona, The Backstagers, and The Tea Dragon Society.
Content
Language – Medium, swearing and crude humor throughout
