Middle Grade Fantasy Graphic Novel
5 cups of tea out of 11
Summary: Sandy is an artist and prefers drawing to everything else much to the frustration of the strict teachers at her school. But when she meets a new student things get a little scary.
Likes: The art is stunning, very vibrant and colorful. Sandy is also a fabulous main character.
Dislike: That ending was a bit vague and I came away with a lot of unanswered questions.
Overall I would recommend this for the art alone. But there are other graphic novels I’d recommend for stronger plots like The Tea Dragon Society or Phoebe and Her Unicorn. While I was reading this I thought of Anya’s Ghost, a young adult graphic novel, and Suee and the Shadow. They have similar themes about identity and society with spooky elements.
Great review
