Review: CLAMP School Detectives Vols. 1 – 3

CLAMP School Detectives, Vols. 1 – 3

Summary: Nokoru Imonoyama, Suoh Takamura, and Akira Ijyuin (he is also the main character of Man with Twenty Faces) are the three kids who run the elementary division of CLAMP school. In addition to all the things they have to do Nokoru decides that they should be a detective agency. From volume one my favorite story was about a missing pet peacock. Epic. From volume two my favorite story was about how Suoh and Nagiso-Jo meet. Beautiful. From volume three my favorite story was about how Nokoru and Suoh became best friends.

Likes: I love Nokoru and Suoh’s friendship. Nokoru is like Tamaki from Ouran High School Host Club (the princely type) and Shigure from Fruits Basket (kind of a slacker and likes to mess with people). Suoh is the one who reigns him in. There were also a lot of funny moments and cute moments spread out across all three volumes.

Dislikes: There was a story with a girl who tried to get a dance cancelled and injured Suoh because she thought Nokoru wouldn’t dance with her. And he ends up dancing with her. She really should have been disciplined.

Overall I liked this a bit more than Man with Twenty Faces because there was more for me to like and appreciate. It was still funny and ridiculous but there was a lot less of the love philosophies and other philosophies.
